Insurance and payment

The plans we accept, and how vision and medical insurance differ.

Plans we accept

Because we provide both medical and routine eye care, we accept a number of insurance plans to help cover the cost. These are some of the plans we accept.

  • Buckeye Health Plan
  • Davis Vision
  • Spectera
  • Molina Healthcare
  • UnitedHealthcare
  • VSP
  • AlwaysCare

We accept most vision plans for whatever portion of the exam the plan covers. Tell us your insurance company and we will confirm your coverage.

Payment

We accept cash, checks, debit cards, Discover, Mastercard and Visa.

Vision or medical?

A vision insurance policy is not the same as health insurance. Health insurance protects you against the cost of unexpected eye injuries or disease. Vision insurance is a wellness benefit that provides routine eye care, prescription eyewear and other vision services at a reduced cost.

Medical insurance usually does not cover a wellness exam for glasses or contact lenses. Vision plans cover exams for glasses or contacts, but usually cannot be used for red eyes, floaters or other medical eye problems. Bring your insurance cards to your visit.

Making the most of your plan

Vision insurance comes in two main forms. A vision benefits package, often added to an employer's health plan, includes set benefits such as routine exams and discounts on eyewear. A vision discount plan gives flat discounts on exams, glasses, contacts and some procedures, usually for a lower premium.

Many plans use pre-tax dollars through Flexible Spending Accounts, Health Savings Accounts or Health Reimbursement Accounts. Benefits may expire every year, and money in a Flexible Spending Account may not roll over, so use it or lose it. Think beyond the exam, too: a second pair of glasses, prescription sunglasses or lenses for your lifestyle may be within reach.
